Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company Limited officially commenced operations on the 1st of November 1993 as a state-run corporate enterprise for the processing and exportation of fisheries products. The prime objective of the organization is the production and marketing of niche-branded, internationally accredited and 100% Maldivian-origin manufactured products to European and Asian destinations.
Mifco is committed to the development of the fisheries sector. Mifco has consistently striven to emphasize the uniqueness and environmentally friendly nature of the Maldivian fisheries sector by emphasizing completely on Maldivian nature of Mifco's product range. Complementarily Mifco continues to undertake numerous efforts to facilitate & alleviate the daily ordeals at its operational centers by continuous modernization of its fish collection facilities.
Mifco's most prominent markets include the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Japan, Thailand and Sri-Lanka.
In the near future Mifco looks to diversifying its activities by venturing in to Aquaculture and Mariculture activities and thus processing and marketing greater volumes towards value added products.
